Chevy Malibu Power and Performance

The 2021 Malibu arrives with a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that generates 163 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The other available engine is a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder that generates 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The base engine pairs with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), while the turbo option works with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Both powertrains come with standard front-wheel drive.

Regardless of engine, the Malibu delivers an agile performance and reliable power delivery for around-town driving and merging and passing on the highway. It maintains its composure and offers a fun ride through curves and turns. The steering is light and responsive for driver confidence.

Chevy Malibu Interior

The 2021 Malibu offers seating for five people in two rows of seats with an abundance of headroom and legroom. The seats are cushioned and supportive for long-distance comfort. Cloth seats are standard, but you can opt for leather upholstery, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. You can also add a dual-pane sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and remote start.

The trunk of the Malibu has 15.7 cubic feet, which is plenty of space for luggage or shopping bags. The rear seats are split-folding and can create even more space for long or bulky cargo. The cabin has numerous small storage spaces for passengers to store keys, wallets, and phones. Loading cargo is easy, thanks to the low liftover height and wide trunk opening.

Chevy Malibu Technology

The Malibu comes with an 8-inch touchscreen and the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system. Its straightforward menu and large touchscreen icons makes it very user-friendly. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration are included, presenting you with the option to stream music and other media from your phone to the onboard system.

Some of the other features that are available include a navigation system, wireless device charging, a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM®, and a 9-speaker Bose premium sound system.

Several safety features are available for the Malibu, including parking sensors and Automatic Parking Assist, which can steer your car into a parallel or perpendicular spot for you. The Teen Driver system is optional, which permits you to set parameters for speed and sound to minimize distraction for young drivers. Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning is also available, which sends a warning if you’re not in your lane and applies steering corrections to keep you centered.
