While the Chevy Equinox is known for being a reliable SUV, it’s still important that you keep up with its routine maintenance schedule. What’s a maintenance schedule, you ask?  A vehicle’s maintenance schedule can be found inside its owner’s manual and offers you a timeframe as to when you should complete different routine services on your vehicle.

In this guide, our team at Feldman Chevrolet of Lansing Service Center will go over the maintenance schedule of the Chevy Equinox. When you’re ready for your next service, our Chevrolet technicians are here to help you. Continue reading to learn more!

Schedule Service

7,500-Mile Maintenance

Chevy Equinox Maintenance Schedule For many vehicles, including the Chevrolet Equinox, the 7,500-mile mark is roughly when you should be getting a few different services done. On the Equinox specifically, this includes a tire rotation. Tire rotations help your tires avoid uneven wear.

In addition to a tire rotation, you’ll need an oil change once you reach 7,500 miles on the odometer. Having your oil changed is important in avoiding potential engine damage. If you’re someone who tends to drive a lot, you might even need your oil changed sooner than this.

22,500-Mile Check-Up

After you’ve traveled 22,500 miles in your Chevy Equinox, you’ll not only need another oil change and tire rotation, but you’ll also be due for a few more services. This is the time that you’ll need to replace the passenger compartment air filter. This filter traps dust particles that cycle through your SUV’s air conditioning system, so you’ll want to make sure this is cleaned out roughly every 22,500 miles or every two years (whichever comes first).

Chevy Equinox Service at 45,000 Miles

Chevy Equinox Maintenance Schedule While you’ll need a few more oil changes and additional services before reaching 45,000 miles, this is the point where you’ll need some new services performed you might not have had done yet. During this routine maintenance check, you’ll need your passenger compartment air filters replaced again, and now you’ll need your evaporative control system inspected. Also, if your model isn’t equipped with the engine air filter life system, you’ll need your engine air cleaner filter replaced too. This is also a good time to have your front and rear wiper blades replaced.

150,000-Mile Equinox Maintenance

You’ll want to ensure you’re keeping up with your regular routine maintenance, like oil changes and tire rotations up to this point, but at 150,000 miles is when your Equinox will need the most done. To increase the lifespan of your vehicle, you’ll want to change the rear axle fluid if your model comes with all-wheel drive, drain and fill the engine cooling system, and have your accessory drive belts inspected.
