On the Chevy Bolt, you will be able to find an impressive range of an EPA-estimated 259 miles. This distance will allow you to travel on the highway or city streets with plenty of flexibility and longevity. Looking at the city and highway mileage metrics individually, you can expect to achieve up to an EPA-estimated 127 city/108 highway MPG.
The Nissan LEAF, though, isn’t able to achieve these levels of efficiency. Despite offering two different battery choices, each one only reaches an EPA-estimated range of 149 miles on the standard battery or 226 miles on the available one. Its fuel economy also falls short compared to the Bolt, with the standard motor achieving an EPA-estimated 123 city/99 highway MPG.

Both Chevy and Nissan offer their own apps for drivers to download to stay connected to their vehicles. With the NissanConnect® EV & Services app, you can learn such information as your current charging status and an updated range estimate.
Similarly, the myChevrolet app provides Energy Assist, which can let you know what your range is and where you can find charging stations. It’s also able to clue you in on whether or not you have the power to make it on your current route. However, it’s important to note that the Bolt provides this service for the first five years of ownership, while the LEAF’s offering only provides for three years.
Also, the Chevy Bolt is the only one of the two to provide access to a 4G LTE Wi-Fi® hotspot that will allow you a continuous connection to internet service. Unfortunately, you won’t find this feature on the Nissan LEAF.

Plenty of comforts are available in the Bolt and LEAF. Both come standard with cloth seats and offer an available upgrade to leather if you’d prefer. Each model also features an available leather-wrapped steering wheel for further comfort.
If you’re looking for heated seats and a heated steering wheel, you’ll also be able to find them available on both models. However, the Bolt is the only one to extend a heated option for the rear seats as an available upgrade. The LEAF, on the other hand, only offers it up front.
Another interior component worth highlighting is the cargo space. If you plan to travel and need to carry a decent amount of gear, you will want to find a vehicle that will fit everything comfortably. The Chevy Bolt can provide that with up to 56.6 cubic feet of space. The Nissan LEAF falls a little short, offering drivers only 30 cubic feet.
