Broad Museum

There are quite a few interesting exhibitions currently on display at the Broad Museum. Here’s a preview:

Follow them on Twitter to learn about their array of fascinating experiences, which includes hands-on adventures like FLOW: A Water Experience and Pop: A Bubble Experience; there are also creative spaces like the First Impression Room (designed for budding scientists from birth to four years old) and Think Tank (for teens).

Michigan History Center

While art and science often look forwards, towards the future, the Michigan History Center looks backwards, to the past. This network of museums and historic sites includes 12 locations, with the flagship one right in Lansing: The Michigan History Museum. Potter Park Zoo

Park ZooMoving out of the air conditioning and into something more natural, there’s Potter Park Zoo. Some of their most famous animals include their African Lions, Alaskan Moose, Amur Tigers, Arctic Foxes, Bactrian Camels, North American Bald Eagles, Red Pandas, and Snow Leopards. You can actually watch videos of these animals on their Youtube channel, where you can also learn about how the zookeepers train them!

W.J. Beal Botanical Garden

Speaking of the great outdoors, the last place to visit on our list is the W.J. Beal Botanical Garden. This land-grant institution has a multitude of missions: teaching, collection development, research, conservation, and public service, to name a few. You can learn about these missions on Facebook, where you can read about upcoming events such as their summertime “Music in the Garden” program.
